Located in the Everfree Forest, this building is Zecora's former home and contains a minigame where you can create Totems to generate Element Shards by mixing locally gathered ingredients. The Totem needs to be created by mixing three different ingredients, but the order of the ingredients doesn't matter.

If you have run out of an ingredient(s) needed for a mixture, you can still create the mixture by paying gems for the missing ingredient(s) or collect some from the Forest. This cost varies for each ingredient.

Once created, a totem can be placed in one of four slots outside Zecora's Hut where it will generate shards four times. After that, the last time you collect shards from the totem, it will be removed which will give space for another totem.

Totems can be purchased immediately from the Totem Shelf without the need to wait or use ingredients in return for Gems. This is only available for a given totem if it has already been unlocked by finding their ingredient combination at least once. 

In update 4.2, the time it take to create totems have drop significantly along with the time to collect, which means small ones take 40 seconds to create, greater ones take 2 minutes and superior ones take 3 minutes, while the friendship ones, both normal and greater ones, take 5 minutes regardless of how many shards they give. It also means small totems produces once per 30 minutes, greater ones takes 3 hours 30 minutes and superior ones take 6 hours instead.

In update 4.7, totems will instantly disappear after they have finished generating Element Shards.

Note that Zecora's Cottage is a different building - it's Zecora's home in Ponyville.

Ingredients

These can be collected from various places in the forest. Up to 5 may be held at any given time. Missing ingredients can be bought in Zecora's hut for 1-5 .

Black Iris

Black Iris is a dark purple flower which it can create a rare totems, such as the friendship totem or the greater friendship totem. It can be bought for 5 .

It can be found next to the Castle of the Two Sisters and you need to clear a rock before you can access the expansion it is located in. It can take 8 hrs for this ingredient to grow.

Garlic

Garlic is a vegetable used to create moderate totems. It can be found next to The Tree of Harmony. It can be bought for 4 .

Joke Plant

Joke Plant a.k.a Poison Joke is a blue flower used to create regular totems, moderate totems and greater totems. It can be bought for 2 It respawns next to some of the trees and the rock path.

Purple Mushroom

Purple Mushroom are purple and blue mushrooms. It is also a poisonous mushrooms that cannot be eaten and be touched. This ingredient usually creates standard totems and moderate totems.

It respawns next to Zecora's Hut, at the placing totems area. They can be bought for 1 .

Red Orchid

Red Orchid is a red flower that creates all kinds of totems.

It can be found at the slit of the rock on the left side of the map between the Mane Six Campsite and the Castle of the Two Sisters. They can be bought for 1 .

Sticky Sap

Sticky Sap is sap collected from a tree. They can be bought for 3 .
