Nightmare Night at the Museum is a Limited-Time Story Quest that begun on October 25, 2019, and then re-released on October 2, 2020.

Starlight Glimmer: Welcome, one and all, to the Canterlot Museum's new, traveling History of Equestria exhibit! I'm your guest docent, Starlight Glimmer -- and I couldn't be happier to be here.
Starlight Glimmer: Ever since the... aheh... "incident" with Shadow Lock nearly destroying all the exhibits here (and... all of Equestrian history), the staff have had to spend a lot of time rebuilding...
Starlight Glimmer: ... But it's all paid off tonight, with this first-ever History of Nightmare Night Open House and Costume Party -- organized by yours truly!
Starlight Glimmer: So, show off the Nightmare Night Costume you came in with, enjoy the free snacks, and take an educational journey through the history and lore of Equestria's spookiest holiday. I know I will!

Starlight Glimmer: (Oh my GOODNESS, is this H. Pony Lovecart book a first edition? How did they get their hooves on a signed copy of "The Parasprites in the Walls" anyway?! Best. Exhibit. EVER!!!)
Starlight Glimmer: *AHEM!* ... Ah... sorry. Just got a little carried away with all the... uh... priceless literary artifacts all around us. No big deal.
Starlight Glimmer: Anyway! On to this evening's main event. As a thank-you to the staff for hosting this open house -- and for putting up with more magical shenanigans than ususal lately...
Starlight Glimmer: I've been researching a way to reverse the residual effects of Shadow Lock's story-erasure spell on this museum! And I think I've found one: It's called the Reverie of Reversal.
Starlight Glimmer: My friends fixed most of the physical damage, but this should heal any magical after-effects as well... making this place even shinier, newer, and more historical than before! All I have to do is sing it...

Mane-iac: That's right, Mare Do Well! You shall live just long enough to witness the destruction of all you hold dear... AT MY HOOVES! MUAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
Starlight Glimmer: ... Oh, HAYCAKES. Now the spell's pulling from comics, too?! I mean, that's my best guess, anyway... I have absolutely NO idea who these characters are!
Spike: WAIT, WAIT, I KNOW THIS ONE! That's Mane-iac and Mare Do Well from Issue 97 of Power Ponies -- the one where Mare Do Well is hit by an evil-ization ray! I've got it mint-in-bag at home!
Starlight Glimmer: Mare Do Well... Wait... isn't that the pony that Twilight and her friends made up to teach Rainbow Dash a lesson?! She's not even FROM a comic book!
Spike: Yeah... I think Twilight must've licensed the image rights to the publisher or something? Plus, Issue 97 was one of those weird crossover ones, so...
Spike: A-Anyway, that's not important! The IMPORTANT thing is, both of them should be weak to detangling spray! Let's vanquish them -- quick!

Starlight Glimmer: Well, if I HAVE to face off against a reanimated queen brought to life by magic... I'm glad it's one of the really historically significant ones! Come on, Miss Pharaoh -- LET'S DANCE!

Starlight Glimmer: It reminded me how rich and inspiring history and literature can be! It's not just a bunch of dusty books -- when you really make the effort to get up close to it, it comes to life!
Starlight Glimmer: ... Sometimes literally. Because of magic. (I'm REALLY not as good as Twilight at summarizing friendship lessons...)
Starlight Glimmer: And with that, I'm going to go home, take about a 12-hour nap, and make a couple additions to my reading list. I can't wait to find out what story is waiting for me next!
