The Hooffields and McColts is a siege event that was first held on July 1, 2023. It ran again in June of 2024. It is based off of the episode of the same name.

I am, too... but what do ya think our friendship problem's gonna be?

(Sigh...) That was a close one. Where are these flying pumpkins coming from?
Probably that mare over there with the catapult... Hi! Hello? My name is Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship. And I'm here to solve your friendship problem!
I'm Fluttershy, and... um... I'm here, too. What... exactly are you doing...?
Why, we're pumpkinin' our neighbors, the McColts, of course! Name's Ma Hooffield -- and you're wastin' your time. We don't have a friendship problem. We have a McColt problem!
Them McColts are nothin' but trouble. Just today, they shot pebbles at our farmhouse an' wrecked it! We're not very good at buildin', so all it took was a little pebble... but still!
Well... why don't we talk with these McColts and hear their side of the story? Once we have all the facts, we can put an end to this using reason and rationale!
And... um... maybe you could call off the pumpkining in the meantime? (It's scaring the animals...)

McColts! Ohh, McColts! Hi there! I am Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, and-- Wait! Hold on! We come in peace!
Sorry for givin' ya the third degree, you two... I'm Big Daddy McColt -- and you caught us at a weird time. We're in the middle of a giant feud with our TERRIBLE NEIGHBORS!!!
Well, actually, that's why we're here -- to solve your problem with the Hooffields!
So you're here to help us get rid of 'em, right? 'Cause if you ain't fer us, you're agin' us!
No! That's not-- We're not on anyone's side! We're here to help you become friends again! They were just really upset that you ruined their farmhouse--
Wait a hog-wogglin' minute! We only did that 'cause the Hooffields pulled the pin out of our wagon wheel! A whole week's worth of food rollin' down the mountain...
Us McColts are mighty fine builders, but we don't know the first thing about farmin'. We have to travel a ways away to buy our food... Now, we'll be stuck eatin' HOOFFIELD pumpkins!
Have you tried meeting at a neutral location, talking about your problems, and really listening to each other? Or... I know! I'm an impartial third party. Maybe they'll listen to me!
(AH-HEM--) Attention, Hooffields and McColts! I'm not on anypony's side, but I can see you're both wasting time and resources on being mean to-- AGGTHHPTHH, WHY ARE THEY LAUNCHING TOMATOES AT ME!!!

Bleggh... So much for friendship solution number twenty-eight...
It was a good plan... but we need to think of another one, and soon. This fight is really affecting the animals around here...
Not to worry. I'll just, uh... find the root of the problem, and work from there. Excuse me? Ma? Uh... WHY were you launching tomatoes at me? I asked you to stop fighting!
Oh, is THAT what you were hollerin' about? We thought the McColts rubbed ya the wrong way, so we tomatered them for ya! My mistake. Stop the tomater slingshots, family!
(Sigh...) Thanks--
Watch out! Incomin' hay bales from the McColt side! Reload the tomater slingshots, family -- we're gonna paint their mountaintop red!
Oh, no... Those bales are falling right on top of the forest animals' little homes! We have to help them...!
After Stage 4
Okay... so I asked Big Daddy McColt what started the feud, and he said, quote: "Them Hooffields did us a grave injustice sometime ago for some reason." So...
Yeah... And I asked Ma Hooffield what she hopes to get out of fighting, and SHE said... "The satisfaction of winning." The fight.
So the only thing they have in common is that they both want to win a fight, and neither of them know what it's over. How can I end this feud if I don't know what it's about?
Ooh! Maybe somepony just needs to say they're sorry!
That's a good idea! I actually suggested earlier that Ma Hooffield make the McColts an apology cake, but I don't know if she was listening--
Made the cake! Let's haul it over to the McColt place and... heh... APOLOGIZE to 'em.
YAY! Which part of my argument convinced you? The part where I said the benefits of friendship outweigh the cost of war, or where I said forgiveness is an investment in happiness?
You know what? It doesn't matter! Hey, McColts! The Hooffields have made you a cake... that's ALSO the first step in a long road to forg-- AAAGGHGH WHY IS THERE A PONY STRIKE FORCE IN THAT CAKE?!?!

They're fighting... They're all fighting...! Um... Twilight? We should probably... do something. I mean, if you need a break, that's fine, but I really can't do this without you!
I don't know if we can do this at all. Even if I make things right, they're just gonna fight again...
That may be, but... Oh! Look at those little animals asking for my attention... Oh, you poor things! There isn't enough food here for you! Oh, brrr... and you're freezing, too!
I don't get it... This was supposed to be the most beautiful valley in ALL of Equestria. What happened?
What's that, little ones? Oh! Uh-huh... Twilight! They know what happened here! We have to stop the fighting! Just for a little!
Okay... I'll have to bust out the powerful spells here, but... Everypony needs to FREEZE! Fluttershy -- tell them what you have to tell them, quickly!!!
After Stage 6
... Long ago, there were two best friends named Grub Hooffield and Piles McColt. When they found the valley between the Smokey Mountains, they knew it was something special.
So they made a promise to each other to protect and preserve the valley for all its adorable furry inhabitants. But they disagreed on how to go about it.
Grub wanted to start growing crops so that everypony would have something to eat. But Piles thought it'd be better to start by building a shelter to protect them against the cold.
So Piles built a shelter exactly where Grub was going to start his farm... and Grub was upset, so he tore down Piles' shelter to plant crops! They kept fighting back and forth, until it turned into a feud!
After Stage 7
The valley suffered from the constant destruction, until the Hooffields and McColts moved to separate mountains...
But even then, the valley and all the animals in it continued to be caught in the crossfire. You see? By fighting, you're destroying what brought you here in the first place!
So it's time you both put your differences aside and come together! If not for yourselves, then for the sake of these cute and cuddly animal friends!
Aw, shucks, we never meant to hurt you little critters... Ma Hooffield? We promise we won't fight you no more.
Us too, except we promise not to fight you. I suppose it doesn't matter who's right. We're both wrong!
That's one thing we can agree on!
Ending
Yay! And now the Hooffields can help the McColts grow crops, while the McColts can help the Hooffields rebuild their homes! I told you we'd figure it out, Twilight!
We did! And we didn't need my friendship plans to do it... We just needed each other!
